What is Classifieds?

Noah's Classifieds is a PHP and MySQL based classified ads application. Our web servers fully meet its requirements. It's not a problem to install it even if your account is using PHP 4. We currenly offer an installation of the version 3.2.0. This tool is a highly customizable classified ad application that allows users to post advertisements to unlimited categories and subcategories.

Noah's Classifieds is a customizable, higly flexible and user-friendly advertisement tool. SEO is supported as well. Users of the site can browse, post, search, subscribe for categories and even use RSS feeds. As an administrator you can customize the application according to your needs. The Control Panel is the heart of the application:

• Settings – allows you to configure all the global parameters of the program
• Content – through this menu you can customize the layout of the program and insert new content into the pages
• Users – you can manage the list of users. It's possible to modify or delete them, create custom user fields that appear on the profile pages and in the registration form.
• Notifications – you must have the SMTP service enabled in order to use this feature of the Classifieds script
• Custom lists - set up custom advertisement lists that can be used throughout the program
• Check – a very powerful tool. You can verify if the program has been set up correctly. In case of any problems being detected, the Check page gives useful hints on how to solve them.
• Updates – checks automatically for available updates. It's required that outbound connections be allowed.

How to install Classifieds using the Elefante Free Scripts tool

To install Classifieds you need to have a MySQL database. All the information of your Classifieds site will be kept into a MySQL database. Such a database you can create using the “MySQL Databases” menu:

You must enter a name and a password and the database will be created:

When the database is created you can proceed to the Classifieds installation. The Elefante Free Scripts menu is accessible through the “Web Tools” section of the Control Panel:

You can also use the direct link under the “Web Tools” section:

You'll be sent to the “Elefante Free Scripts” menu. The next step is to choose Classifieds from the list:

Now follows a short presentation of the Classifieds script. The installation link can be found here:

In the Classifieds installation wizard menu you must indicate the database that Classifieds will be using:

Proceed to Step 2. It's necessary that you enter the database prefix that Classifieds will be using. Choose a host where the script will be installed. Enter a path where the files will be copied. In the following example, the Classifieds folder will be /www/classifieds.100webspace.net/classifieds/. Now choose a name for the administrator's account, a password and an email address. Next, press the “STEP 3: Install” button:

You'll have to wait a bit until all the files are copied and the database tables created:

After the successful installation you'll be forwarded to the “Installed Applications” menu:

From this menu you have direct access to the folder where the Classifieds script is installed:

The “Admin URL” link leads to the Classifieds script’s Administration Panel. Here you can see the administrator's details which you've set. There's also a direct link to the Administration Panel:

Press “Login” and the Classifieds script's Administration Panel will be opened:
