Elefente Installer is available with the Personal Pro and Business plans.
Gallery is an open source project whose goal is to develop and support leading photo sharing web application solutions. The Gallery project develops open source software licensed under the GPL, and is maintained and developed by a community of users and developers.
Gallery is a web based software product that lets you manage your photos on your own website. You must have your own website with PHP and database support enabled in order to install and use it. With Gallery you can easily create and maintain photo albums via an intuitive interface. The photo management options supported include automatic thumbnail creation, image resizing, rotation, ordering, captioning, searching and more. Albums and photos can have view, edit, delete and other permissions set per an individual authenticated user for an additional level of privacy. It's great for communities - give accounts to your friends and family and let them upload and manage their own photos on your website!
There are two powerful advantages of the Gallery2 script that could be used:
These and many more options for customization of the Gallery script are available once you install it.
In order to install the Gallery2 script for your site hosted in your account with us, use the Elefante Free Scripts menu. You will be able to find it in the Web Tools section in your account's Control Panel:
Once you access the menu you will see a list of all the available scripts in the Elefante Installer. The Gallery2 script could be found under the Image Galleries part of the list:
A single click on the Gallery2 script name will start the installation process. An extented script information window will open. In order to continue the installation, follow the „Install Gallery2“ link:
The next step of the installation wizard is the script settings configuration page. First of all, you will have to choose a database if you have created one already. If not, you can create it now via the „Create a new database“ link or via the MySQL Databases menu located in the Site Management section of your account's Control Panel. The plans that are allowed to create only one database will be automatically chosen for you.
The first field is „Database prefix“ – you will be able to specify the database table's prefix according to your preferences or to leave the default one. Please note that you will have to set a different database prefix in case you wish to install the script for a second time so that the tables of the two installations will not mess up. The second field is the „Domain“ field organized as a dropdown menu where you will be able to choose one of your available hosted domain or subdomain names. The third field is the „Path“ field. This is the field where you specify inside which domain or subdomain name folder the script files will be placed. If you choose to leave the default folder, the script will be installed in a subfolder of your domain name folder as shown in the example below. In case you wish the script to be available in your domain name folder itself, you will need to leave only the „/“ (forward slash) symbol in the field.
The next four fields are your administrator user details that you wish to set for the script so that you will be able to manage it.
Once you are ready with the configuration, you will have to follow the „Install“ button at the bottom of the window and to allow some time for the script to be installed:
After a few seconds the script will be installed and you will see a page where all the installed applications will be listed for you. The new Application URL will be available as well as the Admin URL where you will be able to check the administration details that you have previously set and to log in to the script administration section:
By clicking on the Admin URL you will see a window with the script administration information needed for script management purposes:
In case you have any additional questions or problems, you can open a trouble ticket from your account with us and ask your question regarding the problem that you are experiencing so that we will be able to assist you further. You will be able to do this via the Open New Ticket menu in the Help Center section of your account's Control Panel.
