Dear Valued Customers,
We would like to inform you that within the following 2-4 weeks we will be transferring all servers to a new datacenter. We are finally migrating from dedicated servers to colocated ones, which will improve the quality of our services, since the stability and security of the servers will no longer depend on third parties. The time needed for taking appropriate actions in cases of a server problem will be reduced dramatically, which means that the average downtime will be also limited to a minimum.
This is a big step forward for 100WebSpace. A new web hosting infrastructure based on a cluster of high-end web servers will be implemented, which will result in a faster and more reliable service for our clients.
The process of moving all servers to the new data center has been already initiated. Within the next couple of days we will move the following servers:
100webcustomers.com
allhyper.com / tollfreepage.com
If you notice any problems after a server has been moved, please contact our support team.
We will inform you every time we start moving a server by opening a thread in the 100WebSpace Announcements section in our support forum. We will then update the thread informing you about the status. The expected downtime on each server will be about 2 hours. No action will be required on your end. Your files, databases and settings will remain intact.
Unfortunately, in some cases (when the database host is set as an IP number instead of the real server name) you will have to change your database connection settings (only the database host) manually. That's why we provide you with a short tutorial on how to do that on all popular PHP/PERL-based systems (CMSes, forums, blogs, galleries etc). They all have a config file where the MySQL connection settings are defined (DB host, DB username, DB password, DB name). Usually the file is dubbed config.php | configuration.php | mainfile.php | database.php | dbconfig.php, or similarly. This file should be located in the main folder of the PHP/PERL-based system or in a folder called "includes" or "include". Here are some concrete examples:
phpNuke
config file: /config.php
phpBB2
config file: /config.php
XOOPS
config file: /mainfile.php
Mambo CMS, Joomla
config file: /configuration.php
Coppermine gallery
config file: /include/config.inc.php
IPB forum
config file: /conf_global.php
You may see the new MySQL hostname in the 'Manage MySQL Database' section of the Control Panel. Then use the File Manager tool to edit the configuration file with the new database host. If you experience any difficulties, please contact our technical support team by opening a trouble ticket and we will gladly assist you.
Thank you for understanding our constant efforts to improve the 100WeSpace services!
Kind Regards, The 100WebSpace Team
